The Philippine government has allocated P112 million to establish free WiFi in key tourist locations, including the Caticlan Jetty Port and Tabon Port in Aklan. These ports serve as primary departure points for travelers heading to Boracay, one of the country’s top tourist destinations. The WiFi infrastructure will be provided under the WiFi for All program by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and its partner, the Wireless Internet Technology Solutions (WITS).

This initiative aims to improve internet access for tourists, enabling them to stay connected during their transit to Boracay. The rollout in Aklan is part of a broader national effort to enhance digital connectivity in popular tourist hubs, with Palawan and other destinations also included.

Travelers passing through Caticlan Jetty Port and Tabon Port can expect reliable free WiFi access while waiting for ferries to Boracay. This development is significant for those who need to coordinate transfers, check travel updates, or communicate with accommodation providers.
