Authentic Stories from Diners
The beef was too tough and dry, not tender at all. The fried squid rings were overcooked too — felt like chewing on rubber bands. The Java Burger looked kinda cool with the cheese on top, but the patty itself was pretty average, and the bacon on the side was burnt and hard. Even the salad came with a note saying they’d run out of one of the ingredients.
I celebrated my birthday with my friends last night at Hakuna Matata Boracay, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable celebrations I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived until the time we left, the staff gave us nothing but the warmest and most attentive service. Every single staff member we encountered was polite, genuinely friendly, and always ready with a smile. I may have forgotten their names, but each one of them deserves recognition for going above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of. Their hospitality truly elevated the entire experience. Now, the food, absolutely phenomenal! Every dish we ordered was bursting with flavor, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented. You could really taste the quality and passion behind each plate. It wasn’t just a meal; it was a full-on culinary experience that we thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish. The ambiance is another highlight. The open-air setup creates a relaxing and inviting atmosphere, and the live band added such a fun and vibrant energy to the evening. It felt festive yet laid-back, the perfect combination for both celebrations and casual dining. Overall, everything about Hakuna Matata Boracay was just perfect the service, the food, the music, and the vibe. It truly made my birthday extra special, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for not just great food, but also an unforgettable experience in Boracay.
Visited for lunch with my 4 year old daughter. Everything was fine until the food arrived. Her chicken kebab was severely undercooked, pink inside and too raw to slice. I flagged it, and they offered to replace it, but the new one arrived after we had finished sharing my sisig. Disappointingly, one piece in the replacement was still raw. I didn’t bother complaining again. They gave us two complimentary juice. Paid the full bill without a word of apology or courtesy from the staff. One waitress even gave us a rude look on the way out. Definitely not coming back, especially not with my child. Safety and service matter.
Hakuna Matata by Mandarin Nest offers a wide variety of fusion dishes—from Italian, American, and Mexican to Filipino favorites. With their generous servings and family platters, this place is perfect for group celebrations or casual dining with friends and family. Lechon Belly This was my top pick! The serving was generous, the meat was tender, and the skin was delightfully fatty and crispy. It was so flavorful that the soy sauce dip it came with wasn’t even necessary. Definitely more than enough for two! Garlic Prawns Big, fresh, juicy prawns served in a rich garlic butter and mayonnaise sauce. I was initially unsure about the mayo, but it actually thickened the sauce and made it more delicious. For less than PHP 800, you get six pieces—worth ordering an extra plate if you’re a prawn lover. Highly recommended! Calamares Served with two dips—ranch and one that reminds me of your classic fishball sauce. The coating had a hint of coconut crumbs, which added a subtle twist. We just wished the squid was a bit more tender, but it’s still a must-try. 2-Way Sisig This isn’t your traditional Kapampangan sisig. It’s more of a bar chow version, topped with crispy pork chicharon for added texture. It was good, but I’d suggest exploring their other dishes instead. Bonus Points: • There’s a bar upstairs. • A live band plays during dinner, adding to the lively ambiance. • Celebrating something? They’ll serve you complimentary dessert and the staff will even sing for you!
Josh was amazing / our waiter. Food was awesome. Happy hour cocktails great too Nice music and nice breeze to keep you call The perfect combination of everything you looking for in a roof top beach location - best yet
